Yup. I posted this somewhere else, and am now posting it here to get your thoughts, zoners.
I must say, I was quite surprised when the quiz put me in the Old-Fashioned Seeker category. However, some of the questions I had a very hard time answering.
I don't really know how I would classify myself, but... definitely not old-fashioned. I'm very very liberal, actually. I was raised in a Catholic family,
well... my mother and grandmother were Catholic, my father isn't really affiliated with any religion.
Up until I was in seventh grade, I blindly followed my faith. In seventh grade, I started attending Lutheran school. at that time, I sort of considered
converting to Lutheranism. My confirmation was at hand, however, and... I went through with it. I don't know if it was just to make my mother and grandmother
happy or what, but I did it. In grade nine, I started attending a Catholic high school. I graduated from said high school two years ago and started college.
The plan, at the time, was to major in secondary education and go to grad school at some Catholic college and major in theology. Then I'd teach theology.
Throughout high school, I went through spiritual ups and downs. Some days I was a very strong Catholic who felt he'd be heading for the priesthood. Other
days I wanted absolutely nothing to do with Catholicism. However, I've never been able to abandon God. I don't really know what form he takes in my life,
but he's always been there and always will be.
According to a friend of mine, I'm very protestant. According to a beliefenet quiz, I'm 100 percent mainline/liberal protestant. That, to be honest, doesn't
surprise me a bit.
Why am I posting this? I'm not entirely sure... guidance, support, or maybe just because it's an opportunity for me to write it all down.
Catholicism has it's good points, but... unmarried priests, especially in the light of the recent sex abuse issues, don't sit well with me. The church's
strong stance against homosexuality and abortion aren't cool with me either. I don't support abortion, but I recognize God gave us all free will.
One final issue, at least for now. How do I tell my grandmother about all of this? She, as well as many people around me, sees me as a strong faithful Catholic.
Her faith is strong. In fact, I envy her sometimes. My mother is very religiously open, and seems to encourage my quest to find something that's right
with me. My grandmother wants me to attend daily mass. She's not going to be too happy when I leave the church and go... I don't really know where. I may
look into Lutheranism again. How can I tell her about all of this?
Help, support, understanding, and allowing me to vent. Thanks, friends. :)

I'm not entirely sure. Something to the effect of you're happy with your current religion, but looking for the right expression of it. I could take the quiz again to be sure, but I might get different answers.

Well, if you want to, you should change your belief if you shall. No one should be able to stop you. I am a protestant, and we are also against Homosexuality and other things. Personally, I am not, and I don't agree with the people against it. These days a ton of Christians are for the war in Iran. I find myself neither for it or against it. It'll be nice if everyone just left each other alone, and stopped this rubbish. Also this converting to Muslims or Christian really need to cease. Seriously, let each individual choose what ever they want to be without anyone telling them what to choose. So... that's only my thoughts.
